Prepare for the worst

Just noticed a news blurb that minnesotta state gov has been shut down for weeks. Meanwhile, U.S. congressman are still playing politics in a game of chicken to RAISE the allowable debt ceiling? Governments can and DO go bust. Greenspan said years ago that the numbers are now so huge it is impossible to recover, regardless of how models work out on paper. We should have cut services AND taxed the rich decades ago ( I recall then president Jimmy Carter making a special address to Americans that national AND personal debt was going to bring it all down if not curbed. ) Yet so many people are making minor purchases with money burrowed at interest - i.e. Credit cards for purchases under $100?? Just because someone will loan you money doesn't make it affordable. The financial crisis is yet to trickle down, not passed. Prepare yourselves.
