Focus on Real Issues

This article disgusted me. There are so many serious issues in Maui, and you chose this innuendo for your front page article? I work for the Prosecutor's Office, and I can say without a doubt that I love my job and the people I work with. I also would like to say that my experience with my boss, Richard Minatoya, who was named in this article is the total opposite from what was stated. I am a Caucasian female who has worked with Richard for the past three years. I have never been discriminated against for my gender, my ethnicity, or the fact that I am a mother. In fact he has been very supportive and kind hearted. I have an Autistic son, who requires several doctor appointments and DOE meetings. Richard has always supported my efforts and I only hear "ok" or "you do what you need to do" when it comes to time off. Maybe he can't comment because of this pending lawsuit, but I feel I must say something. Your magazine should be called the Maui Gossip, because that is what it is starting to sound like. Why not do a REAL INFORMATIVE ARTICLE- like why I can't get the proper Autism services for my son on this island? P.S. I get that you have freedom of speech, but if you choose not to print my remarks, are you really upholding that principle? I will be watching to see Mr. "Moderator Must Approve Before Posting".
