Currently retailers in Maui are struggling. Even the one's from the Mainland. Why would you want to put so much money into another BIG spot of future EMPTY retail space. Have they not seen the empty retail spots in Lahaina Gateway, and other supposed Great ideas. They should reconsider. The comments on teachers is inappropriate. Also, things are more expensive often times because of the Shipping companies. We are on an island, remember. We don't even have people and tourist that would equal the 38,000 cars a dayt at the proposed site. This should have never passed the planning commission.
