Old Maui High Banyon Tree over 100 yrs old cut down yesterday

I want to know who cut it down, why they cut it down and if the rumor is true they are planning to cut down all the Old Maui High trees.
Trim and prune are great....CUT DOWN a 100 yr old tree is a crime. We are becoming so insensitive to nature. what can I do to help stop this? Looking for peoples names, phone numbers, ideas that I can do to help reverse this. This was a healthy tree ... in no one's way or no vehicles way... no drainage way....
