Thanks so much for this article. I went to visit Rich's farm in Kipahulu this past week; all the work they are doing out there is so inspiring. It's a shame that the certification process is long and expensive...too bad Lingle can't step in and speed things up like how she did for the Superferry, this is one project that would benefit every one in Hawaii trying to afford their own home. It could also provide the needed incentive to keep our ag lands in agriculture and provide new opportunities for A&B or MLP that would be a win-win-win for the community the environment and the economic interests of the investor. Imagine if the US didn't have to "import" $50 million in bamboo annually. This is a legal and profitable business that would be even greater if influences in Hawaii could work together towards a quicker certification process for the state's bamboo timber. I'll keep my fingers crossed
