Good Picks

I'm dying to know what's in Don Couch's general election campaign donor report which he didn't file. Good call on identifying him as a developer's candidate.

I'm concerned that we're going to see all these vacation subdivisions OK'd because of the economic slowdown and then the developers will wait until times are better to actually build - playing us for suckers. No jobs when we need them and undesirable development when we DON'T need it.

Better we keep to smart, long term planning even though times are tough.

I'm surprised you endorsed Halperin since she appears to be a one-issue candidate (Pro-TVR). She talks a good game but appears just to be parroting the words without any real understanding of what she is saying. I think I would have left this as a no endorsement...although I have to admit a great deal of liking for Joe Pontanilla despite his consistent pro-developer votes. I get the feeling that at heart he has a deep down understanding of malama 'aina. Now if we could only get him to step out of his comfort zone and VOTE his heart, we'd be in good shape.
