Rob, you missed the point in my comments, the real culprits of de-forrestation is the lumber industry - not the palm oil industry which is centralized in South East Asia. Biodiesel production does not even account for 3% of Palm oil usage - how could it have an impact on prices? Even if total Biodiesel capacity in South East Asia was operating at 100% that would account for 10% of total yearly production from Palm oil.

The verdict on Jatropha is not out yet since the oil is toxic and there is still too few mills to refine it. lets not even talk about transporting jatropha oil and the hazards associated with it. You will need to talk to Homeland security about that...
