We should go out of our way to support the courageous few who vo April 03, 2009 | 04:42 PM
The religious bigots really came out in force with mainland financing on this issue.
It leaves me completely incredulous that people get so worked up over something that only affects 10% of the population.
I'm in the 90% that is heterosexual, but it seems only fair that we protect minority rights of the 10% who are gay. The Civil Unions bill was a step in the right direction.
I urge people to support those legislators who were courageous enough to stand up and vote. And the Democrats who voted against this should TAKE A LOOK AT THE DEMOCRATIC PLATFORM -- guys you are pretty much OBLIGATED to support this bill and opposing it showed either a lack of courage or - in the case of Gabbard - homophobia and biggotry.
