ROB breaks it down once again May 08, 2009 | 09:52 PM
I'm not sure why everyone else is reading this paper, but hands down, it's the Rob Report that gets me looking for it. As large cities dominated our landscape, fewer and fewer people were farmers. The small family farm was replaced by large corporate conglomerates. Agriculture was replaced by agribusiness and factory farming. Few of us saw where our food was grown and raised. With farming practices becoming subservient to corporate bottom lines answering to shareholders, our entire food supply has become suspect. As Rob clearly points out, buying and supporting local agriculture is not only good for the economy, it greatly improves the quality and variety of the foods we eat. Each one of us, every time we pull a dollar out of our pockets has the power to change the way our economy and our food supply works. Which company's, which communities, which farming practices, which economy will you support with the next dollar you spend? RIGHT ON ROB!!
