[DANCE] Twenty years ago, dance was a respected and thriving force in the arts community on Maui. And it was just the right time and place for a professional dancer and choreographer from New York to come and contribute to its success. David Ward has not only done that, but he has also managed to exalt the art form with his own creative vision, incorporating the rich cultural soup of dance that is prevalent in the Hawaiian Islands. What resulted is a 20-year career of outstanding performances, as well as a continued reverence for a movement that is, in his words, "more important than we realize."
