On March 26, a couple dozen Hawaiian activists stood across the street from the Lahaina post office waving signs saying "Mahalo Dowling Company,"trying to drum up authentic grass roots support from Dowling's Hawaiian Homelands projects. That's called serious public relations. And it's a big week for the genetically modified food madcaps over at Monsanto. Their company just donated 25 G's to The Nature Conservancy's Kamakou Preserve on Molokai. And that's some awful good public relations—GMOs aren't really all that popular on Molokai, where Monsanto runs a GMO seed farm, you know. MTW
