But Carlyle Group's Hawaiian Telcom rises a few notches on news that it pays CEO Michael Ruley slightly less than $2 million a year. "Excessive CEO pay takes dollars out of the pockets of shareholders—including the retirement savings of America's working families," states the AFL-CIO's website.
