[ENVIRONMENTAL LECTURE] Noted environmental activist David Helvarg's new book 50 Ways to Save the Ocean—published by Makawao's own Inner Ocean Publishing—is a comprehensive but still easily readable guide to all the horrible things we human beings do every day to 70 percent of the Earth's surface. In fact, it's so good we excerpted a small portion of it for our June 1, 2006 cover story "5 Ways to Save the Ocean." Anyway, Helvarg will stop by the Maui Ocean Center this Tuesday to sign copies of his book (1-3 p.m.) and talk about how to make more ocean-respecting choices in our daily lives (6 p.m.).
