[PUNK ROCK] I researched the "Five Bands for Five Bucks" show at Paradise Bluz the way any self-respecting journalist investigates bands these days—I went to MySpace.com. There, I learned that Highly Unlikely is an upcountry punk band that counts amongst their "friends" Metallica, Bad Brains (impressive!) and Jim Morrison (apparently lurking MySpace from the great beyond). I couldn't find information on the other bands—event-flyer coverboys Never Say Die share a name with at least 29 other bands—but that's probably due to punk's honorable tradition of spiting anything mainstream. No matter. It's not every Thursday that we get to see five punk bands in Lahaina. For five bucks. Count me in, I'll see you there! I'll be the one who looks exactly like my MySpace profile photo.
