Remove Images Upfront News Missing Hiker Tristan Brennan Found Dead by Jen Russo November 17, 2011 Hiker Tristan "Turtle" Brennan, 29, whose disappearance over the weekend made the news all over Maui, has died. His body was found in the Maliko Gulch area of Haiku on the afternoon of Monday, Nov. 14 following a search by a Maui Fire & Public Safety helicopter crew. A fit and avid surfer and hunter, Brennan was last seen late last week walking in the pineapple fields near Maliko. Family members filed a missing person's report on Saturday, Nov. 12. The official statement from the Maui Police Department on Brennan's death was terse, and leaves vague exactly how Brennan died. "On November 14, 2011 at about 1530 hours, the body of Tristan Brennan (29) was found in the Maliko Gulch area," Maui PD Lt. Wayne Ibarra said in the statement. "No foul play is suspected. An autopsy will be scheduled to determine the cause of death."
