There is no better place--Upcountry or otherwise--for chow fun or hot dogs. Locals know this, which is why they pack this venerable store every day. But be warned: when the food runs out, too bad for you if you're still in line.
Before Old Man Fukushima came to town, i only would buy Nickel brand soda, cola or orange and on Sushi day, when he would have. Then I existed on Fuku dogs, with all the relish and sliced pickle, Original Maui Chips and WAY to many Coca cola. Since we were the store around the gulch past Mickey's Pond, and I could pick most things, I still did Fuku Dogs. even when Sue's Mart started and became Haiku Mart with Mick.
