‘Summer of the Pelvic Bone’
Friday, 10 p.m. at Casanova

April 28, 2005

[MUSIC] Two years ago, the

Los Angeles Times

declared a “summer of the pelvic bone,” based on the latest trend in low-rise jeans. Since then, the midline has continued dipping and the butt crack has become the new cleavage. Levi’s introduced their new “Too Superlow” jeans for women, as well as their “Dangerously Low” and “Offender” lines for men, while the brand Gasoline came up with an ingenious low-rise jean with built-in bungee cord to adjust the drop as needed.

How low are YOU willing to go?

At Casanova this Friday, if you don your deviantly down waistlines, you can not only enter the contest for best low-risers—with $300 in cash prizes and from the Enchantress Boutique, as well as The Love Shack—but also, you’re eligible for some $2 drink specials and you can significantly reduce the $10 cover charge down to a mere $5 to get in. DJ Arge will spin Latin, Merengue, Cumbia House music and Reggaeton, along with live conga accompaniment by Elan Rae. [SAMANTHA CAMPOS]
