Taste This!
Saturday, 4:30-7 p.m. in Wailea
June 16, 2005
[FOOD/FILM] This is the event foodies and Maui Film Fest lovers have been waiting for! The Taste of Wailea is the Festival’s annual celebration of food, drinks and cinema. You can hobnob with the folks from the films, catch a gorgeous view of the sunset from the manicured lawns of Wailea Gold and Emerald Golf Course, and eat the finest from Wailea’s resort hotels and restaurants.
Chef George Jackson from Bamboo Chi will be dishing up Foie Gras Sausage with Polipoli Plum Marmalade and Quail Saltimbocca with Sage and Toasted Pine Nuts, for hungry gourmet stomachs. And Adam Condon from Spago will do his award-winning culinary thang with a little Nori Komi Furikake Moloka‘i Prawn and Hawaiian Chili Aioli. You go, Adam! Mulligan’s on the Blue, Four Seasons Resort, Tommy Bahama’s Tropical Cafe and Capische? will also represent.
There are two types of tickets available for The Taste: You can enjoy the Celestial Cinema Double Feature of
Marilyn Hotchkiss Ballroom Dancing and Charm School
followed by
Happy Endings
OR you can attend the Saturday Night Tributes, where the hilarious Mike Myers (
Austin Powers
, yeah baby!) will be presented with the Silversword Award. Taste of Wailea tickets featuring the Saturday’s Celestial Cinema are $175 and tickets for the Saturday’s Tribute at 8 p.m. at the Wailea Marriott Ballroom are $195.
