Outreach v. An effort by politicians to “roll up their sleeves” and be seen (and photographed) doing some form of manual labor.

Usage: “Lt. Governor [Duke Aiona] spent about three hours with an estimated 90 volunteers from Bank of Hawai‘i sprucing up Kuhio Park Terrace. The outreach coincided with National Community Service Day.”
