Chicken Skin Stories With Kathy Collins and Call of Love With Peter Kater and Spar Street

‘Couple of chances to make your spine tingle this weekend. First, check out the inimitable Kathy Collins (and ‘Tita, of course) as she presents an evening of “Chicken Skin Stories” in preparation for that upcoming spook-tacular holiday. Weak-kneed individuals and keiki under 10 need not apply. (Saturday, October 23, 7:30pm & Sunday, October 24, 5pm at the Steppingstone Playhouse, Queen Kaahumanu Center, Kahului, $15, 244-8760 or mauiacademy.org) For chicken skin of a different sort, check out a unique melding of visual and aural delights, as acclaimed pianist/composer Peter Kater and sculptor/painter Spar Street present “Call of Love,” an exhibition of their disparate but complementary skill sets. The show will be aired on Akaku, so attendees agree to have their likeness captured and disseminated.
