It’s weird what the mind focuses on when panicked. When instructed to evacuate last week, after throwing my brothers and the dog in the car, I made sure to pack my skincare regimen. WTF? Instead of bringing a blanket (which would have been prudent) or a flashlight or maybe even treasured childhood mementos, I brought some lotion. So you can tell I take pampering seriously.
