Loved little cafe's like these
December 23, 2009 | 11:28 PM Having travelled a great deal in my lifetime, I've had the opportunity to eat at every type of food service establishment you can think of. My favorite are the small mom and pop type of cafe's, where seating is limited and the owners are constantly cooking throughout the day. There's something special that goes into every meal, when you eat at a local, non-franchised eatery that you won't find anywhere else. And Lynne's Cafe is no exception. My first experience with Lynne's Cafe was 5 years ago, when vacationing on Maui. My family and I took the un-beaten path to the small town of Haiku, and stopped by this little joint, as it was highly recommended by friends in the East Coast. Boy were we surprised. The food was great and I personally love the small town spirit this place had to offer. And it's true what the other reviewers above mine have mentioned. If the owner, Lynne, ever stops to catch her breathe, try to strike up a conversation and you'll see where the love and aloha that goes into her cooking comes from. I've logged 7 trips to Maui since then, and I always make it a point to getting something at Lynne's Cafe, because she does not disappoint. There are a number of fantastic places to eat at on Maui, but trust me when I say that Lynne's Cafe has earned a special place in my tummy. Mahalo! Steven B. |
