Thank you, Anu, for your thoroughness in writing about Maui's orchestra. I have played viola in our Maui Pops, (and also in the former Maui Symphony Orchestra) for 20+ years as well as the Honolulu Symphony and I must say that Mr. Jim Durham's programming is diverse, entertaining, approachable to the audience and an absolute BLAST to play!
I sincerely hope that many people read this article and are inspired to come hear our orchestra play. It's a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon. BRING A YOUNG PERSON to expose them to the thrill of the sound of a live orchestra!! (Young ones 12 and under have a discounted ticket price, thanks to the MACC!)
