"The Wo Hing boasts the earliest listing, according to a National Register report—it was first listed as part of the National Registered Lahaina Historic District on October 15, 1966, nearly two decades before the Chee Kung Tong or Kula's privately owned Ket Hing."

Um, no. This is wrong. Sort of.

The original Lahaina Historic District nomination forms does mention Wo Hing, but does not list it as a contributing property in the Historic District in response to the nomination (Dunno why, I have no clue why this and other historic sites were omitted in the first place.). The Chinese Tong Houses of Maui Island TR (Thematic Resources, now under the NRHP designation Multiple Property Submission) nomination forms mentions it as a contributing property in that thematic group. So in a sense, the Chinese Tong Houses of Maui Island TR should've gotten first nod.

To also make it more complicated, Hale Pa'i and Mokuʻula (actually listed (insultingly) in the register as King Kamehameha III's Royal Residential Complex.), while also in the Lahaina Historic District, got nominated much, much later.
