Piilani is The most dangerous stretch of roadway on the island. People crash & burn there far more often than gets reported. Largely from people speeding through intersections & heavy congested traffic trying to pass because "left lane is passisng lane". But In certain areas the left lane lets you get to the left turn lane. This puts you in the path of the oncoming often speeding passing lane traffic. Then as if to matters worse you have traffic pulling out from the side roads in seceral places where no traffic control devices are. They pull out into the center & stop. As crowded as the roadway is even a 30 mhp speed zone does no good.

A smart man once said the way to fix the south maui traffic problem is to make Piilani Highway a One Way North Bound road & S kihei Rd One Way south bound. Think about it.

How many more people will die before something is done.

& you continue to disregard posted speed limits & treat the left lane like that of a MAINLAND highway.
