Seriously now...

What do the judges of this contest know? The only one on the judge's panel that has any experience musically is Vince. Erin Smith should not be one to judge others and their music when her bar anthems are nothing to get her band any success outside the Islands. I won't even begin to mention why Tommy and his wife shouldn't of been judges. Literally, from the judges to promoters, what would be the combined experience for any direct knowledge of how to promote and market and even push a band that is playing this night, when the only one to have any success outside of their home audience has been Vince. Everyone else on that panel is simply like most of the wannabe's you find in most metro towns with a thriving music scene, hanging around like a bad fart.
I was at the "BOTB" event at Mulligan's and have to say that this latest one was ran like a Mickey Mouse club that lacked any sense of professionalism by the event coordinators. Having bands that are trying to push their ideals of musical talent coming dressed up in some theme is beyond amateur. But then to have 5 pts towards the total be depending on dress-up participation is anything less than credible to help determine musical talent. Sure, image is part of any marketing ploy, but to have a theme to a "Battle of the Bands" is painfully axiomatic that those who run this and decide winners have an evident lack of understanding at how it works. This might also be a reason why the guest judges and their respective music has strictly been limited to the Islands and not abroad, except for Vince.
