February 17, 2011 | 10:28 AM MVB pays writers to write nice things about them -it also sends its members on fancy junkets to stay at other fancy hotels. On the taxpayers dime. The MVB will not and has not provided any jobs for local residents. The idea that nobody has heard of Maui is ludicrous. I see ads for California and Alabama all the time on TV -I'm not going to either of those places because of those ads. If the hotels want to pool their money together so they can buy ads -do it. I don't need to fund their corporate welfare jobs. And, if they can't buy those ads and are dependent on Maui tax dollars, then Maui residents should receive money from the hotels. You use our resources to make a profit and give us nothing back. Secondly, what does Mike White know of Paia? He lives in Olinda in a fancy house, there's no reason for him to know what happens in Paia. He does know a lot about all the new roads and fancy paved roads in Lahaina and Kaanapali, seeing that's really where he lives and that's his constituency. Mike White is acting unethical. It's too bad that you're so dependent on welfare dollars to see how he is unethical. If I also don't run any campaigns, so I don't know what you're talking about. Cassandra |
