Yes I did get the irony of the risk I took bringing out an electric car to Maui. So far it runs perfect and the dealerships here are being trained very soon how to work on them I'm told. It was a calculated risk and so far so good. As for relying on a solar powered system that you rightfully claim embodies a high environmental cost, well I guarantee it's a lot cleaner than just buying power from MECO that they generate burning diesel in giant generators! Besides the environmental effects of manufacturing of my equipment, I've got my carbon footprint down to just about 0. And you still want to complain? Wow.
