Maui Occupy GA dominated by assholes

Sadly, although there are many wonderful people on Maui participating in Occupy Wall St. support events, the GA (mentioned in a preceding comment) are dominated by power-trippers who have chased away most kama'aina.

Ironically, they are mostly newcomers and transients who display the same attitude as the mainland haoles who come over here and demand their way or the highway. Consequently many who support Occupy Wallst have ceased participating due to their unpleasant power trips. As one attendee reports, "The GA seems dominated with people obsessed with acquiring and maintaining power over everyone else rather than organizing support actions. They spend their time talking about how so-and-so has offended them." These short-time non-kama'aina have turned so many people off.

So please don't extrapolate support for Occupy Wall St from the actions now that great numbers of supporters on Maui have been driven away by these arrogant people.
