For those who seek a greater understanding of the political history of Hawai'i (including sovereignty issues) I highly recommend watching "Act of War." This film is shared as an introductory overview for new Hawaiian Studies students at the University of Hawai'i. It has been showcased in festivals around the world and is available in multiple languages. Here is a link to watch it in its entirety: http://www.oiwi.tv/live/channels/showcase/act-war/

www.oiwi.tv offers a plethora of resources on Hawaiian language and culture. For those who are interested in authenticity over fabrication (and in many cases alteration) of Hawaiian history and culture, here is a good place to start.

Maika'i loa to Kamaunu Kahaialii! The more who understand AND SPEAK the Hawaiian language, the more one can read for themselves the history written by the Hawaiian people in the thousands of publications of Hawaiian newspapers printed completely in Hawaiian from 1834 to 1940.
