I'm hopefully optimistic about this new renewable source of energy for Maui County. The main reason is because of the way this company is doing business here by submitting to the EIS process and really meeting with the community and working with them (Maliko boat ramp talks).
Growing up respecting Senator Inouye all these years, its sad for me now to realize that I do not support most all of what he is doing to Hawai'i. I feel he is out of touch with what is really going on in Hawai'i and how although our focus has shifted, he continues to further enable environmental degradation. In my family, we have supported him because he holds an important position for Hawai'i one of the smaller states, but I can't continue to do so when his idea of bringing home the bacon is trashing the 'aina.
