Sour Grapes for the UNEASY RIDER
May 31, 2008 | 05:52 AM It's interesting how people have a hard time taking resonsibility for their choices and instead choose to find an excuse for their mishaps. Has anyone else noticed how the participants of this activity who come back without incidence rave about their experience and the whiners are always the ones who can't accept that they chose to do an activity that like much of life poses risks. My family and I have done the downhill ride with one of the self-paced companies many times and consider the activity as one of the best on Maui. I hope that the community and the powers that be can find a way to balance the needs of all and at the same time keep this option available. One of the biggest problems in my opinion is the fact that most of the vehicles traveling along the same roadways are exceeding the speed limit. Maybe if the speed limits were enforced you would solve a huge part of the problem. Aswith any community issue in a tourist based economy it's about working together.
