Not Authentic Food
August 07, 2008 | 02:42 PM My family and I are from New Mexico and ate at the restaurant. Yes the atmosphere and the menu are great. I really enjoyed the painted mural on the wall. Only thing is they really need to work on the food. The canned beans and store bought taco shells are NOT authentic! The chile is not hot at all, I talked to the owner "Patrick" he told me that he had Hatch green chile....thats the whole reason I went to the Cantina. The chile I got was NOT hatch green. The red chile tasted like it was powder.. not real chile. I was so disappointed when I saw my plate: $8.50 for two store bought taco shells with dry chicken, canned beans and pale pink tasteless rice! The small portions really stood out on the huge white plate! After tasting the terrible food the small portions did not matter! NOT worth it! P.S. just by adding garlic to the ingredients does NOT make it Mexican!....talking about the "salsa" given with tortilla chips. More like tomato sauce with garlic! Disappointed |
