Conformist Stereotyping

What I meant was that you folks have stereotyped ROCK and made it something that others have to conform to, like it will never evolve past whatever your idea of it should be. Maybe we all have a different idea of rock, like Rolling Stones vs. Henry Rollins vs. Incubus, or even that to say something rocks!! could be interpreted more than one way. Most of the new stuff on 92.5 doesn't sound like rock to me, I find it boring and unoriginal. And when did 311 become the poster child of rock? The 311 songs I've heard are as fluffy and predictable as some of the women you mentioned.
Bands that have opened for The Stones- Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age, Smashing Pumpkins, Sheryl Crow, and Alanis Morissette. Bands that have opened for Alanis Morissette- Radiohead and Our Lady Peace, she also won grammys for best Rock song and Rock album, as has Sheryl Crow. Who's idea of rock is that?
