I'm a Cali-Chicano and have eaten at Los Pelones a few times on two different trips to Maui, and the food most definitely satisfied my appetite for Mexican food.

My guess is a traveling journalist wrote this article to write-off expenses from his/her business trip. I guess the writer couldn't think of another to compliment the food without bashing someone else.
