I could name a lot of "Republicrats" in addition to Gabbard: Souki, Calvin Say, ...the list goes on.

Political reality in Hawai'i is that it is very difficult to get elected unless you are a Democrat, so the Democratic party has several Republican opportunists who have joined just to get elected -- not because they believe in the principles of the Democratic Party -- which by the way has a resolution SUPPORTING Civil Unions but because of their raw ambition.
